Jarhead: a marine's chronicle of the gulf war and other battles is a fascinating memoir about Anthony Swofford. The story jumps from his duty in the gulf war as a sniper to his troubles at home, Jarhead feels very authentic as you read it almost like you are there when the characters are in the real situations they get in. Jarhead is a book i would recommend for readers above 15, due to its graphic nature and language. But you will find yourself sympathizing with Anthony and his comrades in this long, pointless war.

Do you sympathize with all the members of STA 2/7 or just the Anthony?

Do you feel Anthony should have fired that shot and not be interupted by that captain?

i rate this book 4 1/2 nolans out of 5
